Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know before your first visit to The Studio MedSpa — answered by our clinical team.
IV Therapy
IV (intravenous) therapy is a medical treatment in which a trained medical professional places an IV line into a vein to deliver fluids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients directly into the bloodstream. Because the nutrients bypass the digestive system, they are absorbed quickly and may begin working right away. IV hydration therapy may help support symptoms such as fatigue, dehydration, brain fog, and general wellness concerns. It may also help support immune function and reduce inflammation.
Before your treatment, a medical provider will review your health history and determine the most appropriate IV therapy for your needs. They will also explain the procedure, expected benefits, and any potential risks.
During the session, you will be seated or lying down in a comfortable position while the provider inserts the IV. You may feel a brief pinch, but the procedure is typically well tolerated. Once the treatment begins, you may relax, read, watch TV, or rest comfortably.
Most sessions last between 20 minutes and one hour. Some premium drips may take longer. After the session, the IV will be removed, and some clients begin to notice benefits immediately.
Water and oral supplements must pass through the digestive system before they are absorbed, which can take time and may reduce absorption efficiency. IV hydration therapy delivers fluids and nutrients directly into the bloodstream for faster absorption and immediate availability. It also provides electrolytes and nutrients in a form that does not rely on digestion.
A booster is a vitamin, amino acid, or mineral administered either subcutaneously (SQ) or intramuscularly (IM) instead of through an IV. Wellness boosters and premium boosters may also be added to an existing IV treatment for additional support.
Side effects are generally mild and temporary. The most common include slight bruising, minor bleeding at the insertion site, and localized soreness. These can often be minimized by applying direct pressure after the IV is removed.
Less common side effects may include infection or an allergic reaction. Our trained medical professionals are experienced in recognizing and managing any potential complications.
Please notify our staff if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. IV therapy may not be appropriate for individuals with liver disease, kidney disease, a history of congestive heart failure, G6PD deficiency, or certain electrolyte imbalances. If you take lithium or blood thinners, some IV formulations may not be recommended. A medical provider will determine whether treatment is appropriate for you.
Many clients report feeling better immediately, with the full effects typically peaking within a few hours. In some cases, improvements may be noticed within 24 hours.
The effects generally last for a few days, though duration can vary depending on your lifestyle, hydration, nutrition, and rest. With proper self-care, some clients notice benefits that last longer.
The ideal frequency depends on your individual needs and wellness goals. Some clients choose occasional treatments for recovery or symptom support, while others prefer regular sessions for ongoing wellness maintenance. Your healthcare provider can help determine the best schedule for you.
No. IV therapy is intended to complement, not replace, healthy daily hydration and nutrition. While it offers rapid absorption and immediate delivery of nutrients, maintaining proper fluid intake, a balanced diet, and healthy habits remains essential for overall wellness.
LeanPreserve Weight Loss Weight Loss
GLP-1 (glucagon-like peptide-1) mimics a hormone we naturally make in our gut that supports your weight loss journey in three ways: (1) reduces appetite, (2) delays stomach emptying to keep you fuller longer, and (3) improves insulin resistance to help your body burn fat.
"Ozempic face" is not unique to Ozempic — it can occur with any GLP-1 medication. It is the result of muscle loss from rapid weight loss. Our program is specifically designed to help preserve lean muscle mass through diet and exercise, reducing this risk.
The most common side effects are gastrointestinal and can include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, and stomach discomfort. Some people also notice decreased appetite, fatigue, headache, dizziness, and mild injection-site redness or itching. These often improve over time as the dose is slowly increased and the body adjusts.
GLP-1 medications are generally considered safe when prescribed and monitored by a qualified clinician, and they have additional benefits such as reducing cardiovascular risk in certain patients with diabetes or obesity.
They may not be appropriate for people with a history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2, significant pancreatitis, severe gastrointestinal disease (such as gastroparesis), certain gallbladder or kidney problems, or for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
In a randomized clinical trial, patients regained two-thirds of the weight lost when they discontinued their medication and lifestyle habits. Combining GLP-1 treatment with a sustainable nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress-management plan can help you maintain more of your progress — but these medications are often used as a long-term, chronic-treatment approach rather than a short-term "quick fix."
Hormone Replacement Therapy
A good candidate for HRT is typically someone experiencing symptoms related to hormonal imbalance or decline — such as those seen during perimenopause, menopause, or other conditions that reduce hormone levels. Common symptoms include hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, mood changes, fatigue, brain fog, decreased libido, and changes in body composition.
A thorough evaluation by one of our healthcare providers is necessary to determine suitability. This includes a review of your health history, current medications, and symptoms, as well as lab work to assess your hormone levels before any treatment is initiated.
We address a range of hormones depending on your individual needs, including estrogen, progesterone, testosterone, and DHEA. Thyroid function is also evaluated when relevant, and referrals or co-management are coordinated as appropriate. Your protocol is built around your lab results, symptoms, and goals — never a one-size-fits-all approach.
Results vary by individual, hormone type, and delivery method. Some patients begin to notice improvements — such as better sleep, improved mood, or reduced hot flashes — within a few weeks. Full benefits typically develop over 2–3 months as hormone levels stabilize. Regular follow-up appointments allow our team to monitor your progress and adjust your protocol as needed.
Lab work is an important part of the evaluation process. While not always required to begin a consultation, baseline levels and screening labs are typically recommended before initiating treatment. This helps rule out other underlying conditions and ensures your protocol is tailored to your actual hormone levels rather than symptoms alone. If you have recent routine labs, bring them to your visit — they can be a helpful starting point.
